My Story

Q1.  What role do you play within the South Eastern Ecoliteracy Project?

A1.  As the Director and Primary Investigator I lead many of our projects.

Q2.  What is your favorite part of ecoliteracy?

A2.  My favorite part is exploring how all things are interconnected and sharing that information with others.

Q3.  What advice do you have for someone new to learning about ecoliteracy/sustainability?

A3.  My advice would be, you do not need to be an expert to have an impact.  I strongly believe in a community approach to ecoliteracy/sustainability and that we all have a role to play.  You are just as important to the project on your first day as you are on your tenth year!

Q4.  When you think of the future, where do you think ecoliteracy/sustainability education is heading?

A4.  I think that ecoliteracy/sustainability will experience a paradigm shift and embrace more of the permaculture/ecopedagogy movement.  I think that in the future ecoliteracy and sustainability will not be stand alone subjects, but will embrace concepts such as People Care and Fair Share.

Q5.  Do you have any special/unique talents that contribute towards ecoliteracy?

A5.  I am certified in permaculture and have completed mindfulness trainings.  I believe these talents combine in a way to allow people to experience their connectedness to nature and each other.
